Course description

Students will be able to approach original texts in Latin through the linguistic and grammatical choices the author is making in order to make meaning and translate the excerpt in English. As they will focus on word derivation and structure of sentence, students will benefit greatly from the process per se, since it is widely believed that the study of Latin not only helps students improve their critical thinking skills, but also their literacy in English.

Students will be given the opportunity to analyze in depth, wonder, discuss themes and ideas, politics and rhetoric while making connections with the world today.
