John Papadakis is the Director of Enrollment Management and Technology at ACS Athens since 2006.
He's in charge of the operation of the Suheil Sabbagh Media Studio at the Learning Commons and is involved in the strategic implementation of the Media Literacy program and initiatives throughout the school.
Since 2021, he's a member of the executive team of ACSAthensGlobal, the official platform connecting the global alumni community of the school.
John Papadakis is the certified Data Protection Officer of the school (email: dpo@acs.gr) since 2018 overseeing the compliance of the school with GDPR. He received his DPO certification from TÜV Austria in 2018.
He has also served as the managing editor of the International Schools Journal, published by ACS Athens, between 2019 and 2023.
After 14 years in the United States, where he served the American K-12 education in different capacities as a Math teacher, educatiional technologist, tutor, and administrator, he returned to Greece with his family in 2001.
His academic studies include an Executive M.B.A. degree from the University of Indianapolis (Athens Campus), a B.A. in Communications/Electronic Media/Broadcasting from Columbia College Chicago, and an associate degree in Electronics Engineering from Triton College, IL. He has extensive experience in radio/TV production and has worked as an editor/staff writer in weekly ethnic newspapers based in Chicago, IL. John Papadakis was the Director of Communications and Operations of the Council of Hellenes Abroad (SAE) – North and South America Region, based in Chicago, from 1995-2001, covering and promoting the educational, civic and cultural activities of the ethnic Greek community on the American continent.
After his arrival to Athens in 2001, he was involved in technology projects as a training consultant and as a project manager in new media related projects (e-commerce, online Content Management Systems, web 2.0, etc.).
Previous business ventures include: a TV satellite company operating as a Dish Network dealer and distributor of Greek satellite TV channels in the Midwest; a weekly radio program promoting the activities of the Greek American community; and various business technology and communication consulting services to organizations and businesses in the Chicagoland area.

Frances Tottas is the Assistant Director of Enrollment Management at the American Community Schools of Athens (ACS Athens) in Greece, a position she has held since 2011. During her tenure in this capacity, she has been managing the Enrollment workflow of the school from Inquiry to Registration at a time of continuous and sustainable growth for the school. Previously she held several administrative positions in the school, earning her a deep understanding of the school’s operations and culture. She has been a member of the school staff since 1987.
In addition to her responsibilities at ACS Athens, Ms. Tottas is a Special Interest Group (SIG) member for Admissions of the European Council of International Schools (ECIS). As a SIG member, she contributes to the continuous dialogue on best practices and the latest trends, ensuring that ACS Athens continues to be a leader in the International Schools community. Frances had the privilege of presenting at the ECIS Inclusive Education Conference, where she shared insights and expertise as a member of the Admissions Special Interest Group Committee on both March 17th and 18th. The presentation, titled “Inclusive Admissions from Enquiry to Matriculation: An Interactive Deep Dive,” highlighted the journey toward creating an inclusive admissions process within the educational landscape.
Prior to joining ACS Athens, she worked for a shipping company and had a 3-year career with SONY Electronics, where she managed the Import Department of Greece. She has experience organizing and setting up multiple trade shows and expositions locally and internationally. This and other ventures add a multifaceted experience to her professional one.
Frances Tottas is an ACS Athens Alumna (Class of 1982) and a parent of an Alum, offering her valuable perspective when it comes to understanding the school community and its needs.

Dr. Jenny Grigoropoulou was born in Athens, Greece, and raised in Maryland, U.S.A.. She holds a B.Sc. degree in Business Administration in 1989, from the University of La Verne and her M.A. degree in International Management and Business Administration. In 1992, she earned her teaching education and certification in the United States, qualified to teach ESL/EFL K–12 and Business Studies 6 - 12. She is an IB educator as well as an IB examiner for Business Management. In May 2019, she graduated from St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida, earning her Doctorate Degree in Education, Leadership, and Management.
Dr. Grigoropoulou is a contributing author of the books Revolutionizing K-12 Blended Learning through the i2Flex Classroom Model and Handbook of Research on K-12 Blended and Virtual Learning through the i²Flex Classroom Model. She has authored articles, such as “The Role of Ethics in the 21st Century Organization” (IJPE-April 2019), and is the co-author with Dr. Gialamas of the manuscript, “Educators Leaders: Inspiring Learners to Transform Society by Becoming Architects of their Own Learning” (IJPE - October 2018) and with Dr. Pelonis, Dr. Gialamas, and Dr. Cherif of the manuscript, "How Can Manifesting Leadership Skills Infused with Ethos, Empathy and Compassion, Better Prepare Students to Assume Leadership Roles" (IJPE, February 2020) . She has presented her work and practices in colloquiums and conferences. She is one of the founding members of the Recycling Project, which is a school-wide initiative.
Dr. Grigoropoulou had been teaching ESL in the Middle School and the Elementary School for grades K – 5 to non-native English speakers. Overall, she has been an ESL educator for 35 years. She has been actively involved with the Saturday Youth-to-Youth program since the initiation of the program, providing unaccompanied minors with skills and knowledge of the English language. In addition to her teaching assignments, educator of the EFL Language Arts and Language Development courses. While being the Admissions & Outreach Counselor, she is also the ESL/EFL K-12 Coordinator.
