Welcome to ACS Athens Middle School!
It is my pleasure and honor to welcome our students and families to the ACS Athens Middle School for the 2023-24 school year. As your new Middle School Principal, I am excited to be part of our students’ educational journey. The middle school years are a time of amazing and substantial growth. Students will develop valuable academic, interpersonal, and character skills that will build on their foundation and help them to develop into a well-rounded person. Our goal at ACS Middle School will be to strive for a positive attitude, a growth mindset, character development, and a willingness to have fun with the educational journey.
It has been my privilege and passion to serve in the education field for 30 years - 12 as a secondary school social studies teacher and 18 as a secondary school level principal. I am originally from South Dakota in the United States and have lived in South Dakota and Iowa all of my years. My wife Susan works as a computer programming engineer for the EROS Data Center near Sioux Falls, South Dakota. We have been married for 29 amazing years and have 3 wonderful children.
Coming to ACS Athens is my first time living away from the United States. I am excited to live in and experience Athens and Greece. ACS Athens has an excellent tradition with dedicated teachers and staff, and I am honored and delighted to continue to develop and cultivate a solid educational experience for our students and parents. I am confident that my professional education experience, pedagogical knowledge, and passion will be a great fit to help lead the ACS Athens Middle School. I am eager to work with the students, partner with the parents, and engage with the faculty and staff to make the 2023-24 school year awesome.

Welcome, ACS Athens Middle School Students, Parents, Faculty, Staff, and Community Members,
It is my esteemed pleasure and privilege to welcome you to the 2024-25 school year. During these restorative summer months, our maintenance team, faculty, and administration have worked tirelessly to ensure that this school year is wonderful and filled with everything our students need to become “architects of their own learning.” Whether you are new to ACS Athens Middle School, or a continuing student, we want you to feel included as a valuable member of our school community. As such, involvement in sports, clubs, and other activities will strongly contribute to your sense of belonging, so I encourage you to get involved in any way you can. Middle school can be the most formative years for our students. It is here that our students continue to foster their intellectual curiosity, empathy for others, and desire to take on projects that promote social change. ACS Athens Middle School offers many opportunities for success while maintaining a keen eye on our students’ individual needs. Please know that we are all here to support our students’ socioemotional well being and encourage their personal growth.
As the new ACS Athens Middle School Assistant Principal, my goal is to ensure that our students feel included in our school community and that they understand the importance of engaging in our shared community in a positive way. I will support our students in their journey towards adolescence as they shape their character and explore their self-development. As a parent of two students enrolled in ACS Athens (Georgios and Argyrios), I understand the wish to see our children become the most successful versions of themselves and will dedicate myself to supporting your children to do just that.
2025 will commence my 20th year as an educator–10 as an English teacher and 10 as a school administrator. While I was born and raised in New York, it has always been my family’s wish to return to the land of our roots and live in Greece. I am thrilled to be here and am confident that my experience, education, skills, and training, will assist in furthering the mission and vision of ACS Athens.
I look forward to collaborating with our students, families, faculty, and staff as we work towards a memorable and dynamic school year.
